Privacy Policy
Effective April 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Argument Equalizer (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the service at argumentequalizer.com and its mobile apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data. When you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password, and (optionally) a display name. If you sign in through Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile fields those providers return (name, email, and a stable account identifier).
- Debate content. Topics, arguments, rebuttals, attached evidence (links, quoted text, image references), judge selections, and votes you submit are stored so the service can generate verdicts and display them to participants and spectators.
- Technical data. IP address, user-agent, request timestamps and rate-limit counters — used to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse.
- Guest identifiers. If you use the service without an account, we issue a short-lived anonymous token so your session survives a page refresh.
How we use it
- Operate the service: room creation, verdict generation, delivery.
- Authenticate you and protect your account (email verification, password reset).
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and automated attacks.
- Improve quality, diagnose errors, and measure aggregate usage.
Sharing with third parties
We use a small number of sub-processors to run the service. The main ones:
- Anthropic. Arguments and rebuttals are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the AI judge’s verdict. See Anthropic’s privacy policy for their processing terms.
- Google, Apple. If you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers receive the fact that you authenticated with us.
- Resend. Transactional email delivery (verification, password reset).
- Render. Hosting, database, and storage.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Retention
- Guest-session data (arguments, verdicts, rebuttals submitted without an account) is automatically deleted roughly 48 hours after the room is created.
- Account data and the rooms you created while signed in are retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
- Server logs and rate-limit records are kept for a short, limited period needed for operational security.
Your choices
- Access the content on your account by signing in.
- Update your display name from your account settings.
- Delete your account from the Hub Account section while signed in. You can also reach us at privacy@argumentequalizer.com for deletion requests or any other privacy questions.
Children
The service is not intended for users under 17. Do not use the service if you are below this age in your country.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email before they take effect.
